Hi Nathan
I was lucky to see the same talk in Brazil last year, a few days before he went to LCC. I've been a great fan of his work and how he brilliantly uses irony, and why not say, sarcasm to portray everyday aspects of both British and foreign cultures around the globe. The book Playas is an excellent collection of "snapshots" showing that beaches are not exclusively used by the very fit and good looking, or glamorous, or rich. I understand you when you said you didn't like his photography at first, but after some experience, it's impossible not to become a fan of his unique style, which tells us some truths that are usually hidden under fashion, clothes, objects, cars or whatever.
Anyway, I was grateful to have come across him. That too, changed my way of seeing.

Cheers!

Hot damn. I found out about Sketchbook a little while ago and would've bought a copy if I could've afforded it. Can't believe some of your stuff is in it! That's so very very awesome.

This is fab, well done! I'm also impressed that you were chosen over your Marmite/crumpet combo comment - my winning entry into the Marmarati was with a Marmite flavoured pikelet, so I share your appreciation.
